Your South Wales Wedding - September/October 2023 (Issue 93)

and looked great with the suit.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “We had harpist Joy Cornock provide beautiful music during the ceremony and for an hour of the reception,” says the bride. “My parents surprised us by hiring Phil Jay Close Up Magician, who performed between the wedding breakfast and evening party. He was a massive hit and stunned all of our the guests. He even had a couple of tricks specifically for us, the most memorable being when he gave us one card each, which we signed. He then magically turned the two cards into one, with the signatures on the back and front of a single card, signifying our union as a couple. “DJ Sound and Lighting played in the evening, and he made sure that the dancefloor was packed,” adds Caitlin. “He had a rustic look available for his DJ booth, and it fit perfectly with our theme. For our first dance, he played our chosen song and offered a dancing on clouds moment, where a fog machine filled the floor, and it looked and felt like we were up in the clouds dancing together.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “As cheesy as it sounds, I can honestly say it was the best day of my life, and the only downside was that I can’t do it every weekend,” shares Caitlin. “With the help of Craig Y Nos Castle keeping everything running, I didn’t have any stress and was able to just enjoy the day with my new husband and all our family and friends. The ceremony was lovely, the food was delicious, and Abe and I danced so much that we limped back to our room! The speeches also stood out. It was lovely hearing all the thought that everyone had put into them. They had the whole room crying and laughing in equal measure, but what really stood out to me was how much everyone cried throughout the whole day. It felt like there wasn’t a dry eye for more than five minutes.” One of Abe’s favourite moments was seeing Caitlin walk down the aisle. “I teared up straight away and couldn’t believe that I was going to be marrying such a beautiful bride,” adds Abe. “One of the funniest moments was during the ceremony, where, after repeating what the registrar was saying, I managed to call Caitlin Jessica, Jessica Caitlin, which luckily wasn’t the worst mistake in the world! I think we all laughed at that moment, and fortunately, the marriage is still legally binding, as I quickly said her name the correct way! “The wedding was so special thanks to all the suppliers and guests that came; they made the day perfect,” continues the groom. “Special thanks must go to Caitlin’s mother, Lisa, and Craig Y Nos Castle for being the wedding planners! Lisa researched the cake, the place cards, the table plan, the venue, the flowers, the hessian table runners, the decorations, and the centrepieces and went with Caitlin to every hair, make-up, and dress trial. Caitlin’s mother and father have been married for 20 years, and unbeknownst to them, Caitlin made a little speech after our first dance and invited them up to the dancefloor to dance to their first dance song, Angels by Robbie Williams. “Our wonderful photographer, David Barrett, has passed away since photographing our wedding,” shares the couple. “He captured our day beautifully, and we were so sad to hear of his passing.” HONEYMOON “We went to Paphos, Cyprus, to stay at a wonderful five-star hotel,” says Caitlin. “We were on our honeymoon for a week but wish it could have lasted forever! It was Abe’s first time abroad and his first time flying, so it was a big moment for him! We planned this trip together after researching hundreds of hotels and resorts, it was a food lover’s dream as we were all inclusive for three meals a day and unlimited snacks and cocktails.” 41 REAL WEDDINGS
