DRESSED TO IMPRESS “I wore the Manse dress by Margaux Tardits, which I bought from The Mews Bridal,” shares Charlie. “I fell in love with the elegant lace accompanied by the flowing and full French silk skirt, which felt so soft to the touch. I liked the sheer nude behind the lace, which gave the dress a sexier appeal along with an elegant vibe. I accessorised with a cathedral-length simple net veil for the ceremony, but this came off pretty quickly afterwards! For jewellery, I chose shell-shaped drop gold earrings and a simple geometric small gold pendant with a central diamond, both from Zoe and Morgan. Adam chose a blue wool suit from The House of Bruar. This was accompanied by a floral waistcoat made by Peter Christian and a white linen shirt.” The bridesmaids opted for blue silk floor-length dresses from Azazie. “I asked the girls to choose their desired dress style,” recalls the bride. “As long as the colour and material were consistent, I was keen to let each bridesmaid choose a style that she would feel comfortable and beautiful in for the day rather than being bridezilla and telling them exactly what to wear.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “Adam’s close friends, including two of the groomsmen, used to play in a band, and for the first time in many years the band reunited to play at our wedding,” explains Charlie. “My best friend Michael joined in on his trumpet. We also had a second band who were friends of friends called The Four Courses. They are very talented musicians who come out of retirement for select weddings! The music was a huge hit with all the guests, with well-known songs spanning the generations and tastes in music. To end the night, we had two of our friends DJ, one of whom used to DJ semi-professionally, and even my mother was tearing up the dancefloor until the generators were turned off at 2:30am!” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “We felt nervous and excited on the morning of the wedding, but also hugely relieved that the weather was fair since storms had been forecast earlier in the week,” remembers Charlie. “Islay, the black labrador with a beautifully adorned collar, brought the rings down the aisle in her mouth, which was a lovely touch. We also loved having our photographs taken on the beach at sunset. “The best man delivered an amazing speech,” continues the bride. “It was flawlessly spoken despite coping with cancer at the time. We also had wonderful support from the hosts at Nolton Coast Weddings, moving straw bales to anchor the tents in the wind and TogetherNess Weddings working all day to make sure everything went off without a hitch.” HONEYMOON “We went to the Dolomites in north-east Italy for our honeymoon,” reveals the bride. “We spent time hiking in the mountains, staying in a combination of fancy hotels and cosy refugios, and enjoying a range of delicious food!” 35 REAL WEDDINGS
