BURGUNDYbliss Abi and Tom created a relaxed feel for the big day, with a focus on candles and flowers in warm autumnal tones Images courtesy of Martin Dabek Photography Abi and Tom met online and talked for a few months before taking the plunge and meeting up for a first date. They soon discovered much common ground such as playing sport, their taste in music and a love for travel. Abi says, “I was attracted to Tom’s great sense of humour, his positive outlook on life and his outgoing personality.” Meanwhile, Tom tells us, “Abi immediately caught my eye with her warm smile and deep green eyes. I fell in love with her sense of adventure, kind and caring nature and passion for the outdoors. We complement each other in so many ways and she makes me a better person every day.” Tom proposed on a remote beach in Western Australia at sunset. The couple had been living in Melbourne for a few years and took some time off work to travel around the country before they moved back to the UK. Tom popped the question towards the end of the trip, which was a great way to round off their time in Australia and also meant they could celebrate their engagement with friends and family once back home. The pair fell in love with Brympton House the moment they saw it. “Straight away we could imagine celebrating our special day there,” Abi says. “We loved that there was a different space for each part of the day, each with its own character. The ceremony space was classic and romantic, with wooden pews and arched windows like a church. It was also ideal that many of our family and friends could stay overnight so we could all have breakfast together the next morning.” Here, Abi tells us more about their wonderful wedding day... 33 REAL WEDDINGS
