Your Somerset, Glos & Wilts Wedding - April/May 2025 (Issue 106)

My wonderful mum made an absolutely delicious chocolate cake with salted caramel icing. It had three tiers, with some flowers and rosemary to decorate. Everyone enjoyed a slice with their sandwiches and scones. We now have a jar full of them. We had a casual afternoon tea, put on by the ladies of the church, where everyone could mingle. This made it possible for us to talk to all our guests while enjoying sandwiches and scones. We dined at The Chapter House that evening with close family and friends. It was a lovely end to a perfect day. The food was 10/10 and the speeches were great. We also had some games that my dad arranged, which were so fun. Our favours were little brown packets of wildflower seeds labelled ‘let love grow,’ and stamped with our initials, which my mum put together. I love wildflowers and once they’ve grown, they’ll be a memory of the day. After the group shots at Salisbury Cathedral, we went off for our couple shoot walking through the city centre where so many people stopped to say ‘congratulations.’ REAL WEDDINGS 37
