Access is via a little white bridge, through gates and along a track running adjacent to the beautiful Fonthill Lake. The venue offers privacy and intimacy for intimate gatherings with seating for up to 30 nearest and dearest or 40 standing. Alternatively, a large marquee can be erected next to the Barn to accommodate several hundred guests for grander affairs. This still leaves you enough space for seating an al fresco ceremony, games or whatever takes your fancy! The barn has attractive stone walls with alcoves and exposed roof timbers. At one end there’s an entrance into a small open plan kitchen, which can be discreetly sectioned off using blinds. At the far end is a second entrance, functioning wood burner and pull-down hatch with metal steps leading to a sleeping platform above. Along the front of the barn there are double doors opening onto a pretty courtyard. The large gravel and lawn courtyard offers privacy and is enclosed by a high stone wall, making it the perfect location for your ceremony accompanied by 100 loved ones both while you exchange your vows and for the reception. The large lawn within the deer park on which you can hold your ceremony is surrounded by mature trees and boasts views over the milelong Fonthill Lake. There’s space here for 200 guests for both the “I dos” and ensuing celebrations. The venue offers free camping with ample room for a bell tent village, and you’ll be granted access for four-and-a-half days. There’s plenty of parking and animals are welcome. The main barn is a cathedral-like structure with exposed roof beams and large arching glazed windows front and back framing the view. The voluminous space of the main barn can be used for wedding ceremonies, dinner and dancing with direct access into a full fitted professional catering kitchen. There’s room here for 150 guests seated for the “I dos,” or 250 standing. Here, there’s a grand stone mantelpiece on the end wall, which surrounds an open hearth with fender seating. The stone walls and wooden floor provide a neutral backdrop while the beams and mantelpiece can be decorated as you wish. The Beaters Loft is a spacious first floor room, with views out onto the surrounding countryside. With its NY vibe, metal beams and doubleheight ceiling, it has a stylish, industrial, loft-style feel. There’s also a kitchenette in one corner and the stone wall and impressive clock face offer a fabulous backdrop for your vows, while 120 loved ones look on. It can also host your reception for the same number. The charming courtyard, comprised of gravel and lawn, offers privacy being enclosed by a high stone wall, making it the perfect location for an al fresco ceremony. With the arched entrance as your backdrop, 250 guests can be seated in a semi-circle facing you as you say, “I do.” You can also celebrate in the courtyard with up to 300 guests. The Loggia is a charming, open-fronted building, which can house up to 30 nearest and dearest gathered to witness you exchange your vows.
