LOOKING YOUR BEST 65 Fabulous inside and out Check out our roundup of wellness, beauty and finishing touch tips guiding you to ultimate wedding-day confidence BEAUTY ESSENTIALS “Your wedding day is all about celebrating love and joy, and your make-up should reflect that,” says bridal make-up artist Jane Dare from Eyedomakeup. “When your make-up is perfect your confidence levels are high.” Jane is a highly skilled make-up artist based in the South West. Here, she shares her top tips so you can achieve a look that’s timeless, beautiful, and uniquely you. •Your perfect make-up looks starts with a new skincare routine. Use a good base primer to suit your skin. Urban Decay is brilliant, or for skin with pore damage check out Benefit Porefection. •Prime the eyes. For me, Urban Decay prevents creasing and makes shadow last all day and night. •Use concealer under the eyes and on blemishes, choosing a colour one to two shades lighter than your foundation, apply underneath. •Use waterproof eyeliner and mascara, as well as applying false lashes to enhance your eye shape or have them salon applied for maximum impact in photos. •Choose a long-lasting base such as Double Wear from Estée Lauder, which is fab. Mix with a BB cream or tinted moisturiser for a slightly dewy look. Avoid caking the base as it won’t look flattering in photos, and stay true to your skin tone. There’s nothing worse than looking back to see a white neck and orange face! •Blending is key, so use good clean brushes to create that flawless natural look. •For oily skin use an oil control primer and base to prevent shine. Apply a setting powder in the T-zone only. •For some warmth to the skin get a professional spray tan, but avoid the face directly when tanning. •Apply cream blush, more than you think, on the apple of the cheeks as a white dress can wash you out. Also, apply soft sculpting contouring to enhance and warm the face in the correct places, along with a matt bronzer if needed. •Highlight liberally down the nose, Cupid’s bow and brow to give the skin a radiance. •Use a lip stain if lips aren’t dry, or alternatively a lippy of choice with matching liner. Press in, blot and apply several times into the lip for longevity. A top-up lippy is essential for the party later. •Finally, set everything with a good setting spray – Urban Decay is my recommendation.
