Before the wedding, we sent them a series of questions and put them in one room to film their answers, which were shown on the wedding day. They were hilarious and we now have this special video of their conversation forever, including the story of where Hils was conceived! We hired an acoustic band to entertain guests at the beginning of the day. We’d also put together a newspaper and included traditional puzzles such as crosswords and supplied plenty of board games. During the evening, we had a pub quiz complete with prizes and a blues band to keep the dancefloor full. We went to Paris for a week on honeymoon. We both planned it and included some incredible experiences, Moulin Rouge and dinner up the Eiffel Tower to name only two. It was the perfect way to wind down from the fast pace leading up to the wedding and just enjoy our start to married life. During the evening Dunkertons offered multiple street food style eateries. Our guests were given wristbands and could choose what they wanted to eat, whenever they wanted it. There was anything from pizza, curries and burgers, to Thai and Mexican. I’d suggest planning a day that’s authentically you. Sometimes you can get caught up in the Instagramable wedding or opinions of others but just adhere to things you love as a couple incorporating your individual interests. Don’t panic about sticking to a schedule, just go with the flow. REAL WEDDINGS 29
