Your Somerset, Glos & Wilts Wedding - October/November 2024 (Issue 103)

Joe and his groomsmen wore the same suit from Peter Posh, a dark blue three-piece, Shrewsbury. Joe would admit, he doesn’t have much interest in fashion, so he picked the same suit as his friend got married in a year prior, just one shade different! Our cake had three tiers and was decorated in sage green and white with edible gold leaf. It had a topper image of us with our spaniel Sully, as he didn’t get an invite to the day but we wanted him to be a little part of it nonetheless. The flavours were salted caramel, lemon and elderflower, and chocolate mudcake. We opted for a simple design for our centrepieces, which were tiered floating candles surrounded by eucalyptus. My bridesmaids wore long dresses in hunter green. I picked the colour and then allowed them to choose the style they liked. My main goal was that everyone feel comfortable and confident. We’re both a bit nerdy! So, we had fantasy themed table names including Lord Of The Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Marvel locations, but we tied them all into the theme by having simple line drawings in gold standing frames. We had menus on the tables, which also served as the place names and featured each guest’s meal choice. They were decorated with a sage ribbon and personalised gold wax seal. These made the dinner service run super-smoothly. 31 REAL WEDDINGS
