Jack wore a tux with a navy bow tie and waistcoat. His groomsmen were dressed to match with the addition of a cummerbund. Local artist Jonathan Weeks performed for our guests as they arrived. We actually first stumbled across him as he was performing the market square on a visit to Wells. He’s an archaeologist who recreates medieval instruments and plays them. He played a pipe and tabor for our guests, which was relaxing, beautiful and in total keeping with the venue. My bridesmaids were dressed in Athena from TH&TH in powder blue, while our flowergirl wore a dress from John Lewis. We used vintage swan placeholders and had a few vintage swan decorative pieces we’d collected as a homage to these much loved birds that live at the Palace. Later in the evening live band Higher Love filled the dancefloor. We also had a photo booth with some Hot Fuzz themed props as a nod to the movie, which was filmed in the city and is one of Jack’s favourites. 33 REAL WEDDINGS
