Your North West Wedding - December/January 2024/2025 (Issue 89)

For our honeymoon, we went to Iceland. We spent two days in Reykjavik, followed by 10 days in a campervan travelling around the island, then another two days in the capital. We were lucky enough to witness the spectacular Northern Lights a number of times as we spent our evenings chasing the clear skies in the hopes of catching a glimpse. We hiked up snowy mountains, swam in natural hot springs, and explored glaciers, ice fields, waterfalls and geysers. The adventure was once in a lifetime and we loved every second. We felt very excited and loved. I didn’t stop smiling the whole day. It’s hard to pinpoint just one person that made our day extra special. Everyone who was involved made us feel so loved. We couldn’t have imagined our day being any better than it was. During the drinks reception we had the wonderful Pet Encounter Cumbria, who brought the loveliest animals for the guests to interact with, from Ben the meerkat to snakes and owls. They were such a big hit with the children and adults. We would highly recommend them! In the evening, we had the talented The Indianas Band perform. My bridesmaids opted for orange satin gowns from Six Stories. They each chose their own style and looked incredible! The very talented Karen Rhodes Catering provided our beautiful canapés and wedding breakfast food. In the evening, they provided us with two lovely food trucks and served the tastiest pizzas, flatbreads and dirty fries. I can confirm that our guests never went hungry on the day! I wore a Stella York gown called 6988 from Ava Rose Hamilton. I really didn’t expect to choose a style like this. I always thought I’d be in a slim fitted dress, but I just knew when I tried it on that it was the one. I instantly fell in love and you could really tell. Will chose a handsome black suit, blazer and bow tie from Marc Darcy. 39 REAL WEDDINGS
