Your North West Wedding - December/January 2024/2025 (Issue 89)

Will and I had a beautiful one-tiered cake made by my very talented auntie, Ang, featuring our cat Ronald and dog Goose! Under the cake was the most wonderful selection of tray bakes and goodies, which she’d also made; we used this as our dessert for the guests, which was a massive hit! Emma Jane Events provided the most beautiful waterfall lighting, which was part of our ceremony backdrop, and lighting above all of the tables. I made the welcome signs, a photo area that included photographs of our family members on their wedding days and a children’s corner. We had long tables, which I decorated with linen runners, small pumpkins and dried flowers in vases. The place names were handmade by my mum, Will’s nana and I. We wanted to make each one personal to the guest who was attending, so we printed out a photograph of them with one or both of us and Will’s nana very beautifully wrote out each name. Bluebell and Ivy created the most wonderful bouquets and buttonholes for the suits. The rest of the flowers were dried and I used these to decorate the tables and the archway my dad and uncle had made for our ceremony backdrop. I saw Town Head Estate advertised online and just thought wow, that’s beautiful, so I booked a viewing. Tanya Town, the wedding coordinator, showed us around and we instantly fell in love. I think we had both decided halfway through the visit that this was our venue. The accommodation was the perfect way to keep the night before the wedding intimate with our closest family and the property itself provided so many options for the ceremony and reception. Each of our guests received a charity pin as a favour. We donated to charities that have helped our family members and in memory of people we have lost. 38
