Christina tells us more about her business: “I started taking photos when I was really young on my dad’s camera and it has always interested me. After studying at college and university, I decided to try and explore the TV world and ended up making up models for a TV show, working at the BBC, and a few other things, but I missed taking photos, so I quit my job and started Fish 2 Photography in June 2008. I get asked a lot why I called my business Fish 2 Photography. When I started the business, I didn’t want to be the same as everyone else and use my name, so I started thinking. I thought about when I was younger and how I used to get teased for having big eyes, and I was called fish and frog a lot, so I decided to turn a negative into a positive and use it as my business name. I love what I do, especially capturing your wedding day and your individual personalities. No one is the same, so no couple is the same, and no wedding is the same. I very much try to create a relaxed and fun experience on our shoots. My style is quite laid back and I want to capture the day as it goes, saying that I will steal you away to take a couple of photos with a location in mind. I’ll chat and talk with you and ask you to do things like walk or cuddle or even kiss, shocker! I won’t manhandle you into a pose, but I might point out something like a bouquet growing out of the groom’s head and ask you to move it or suggest a pose if you are feeling uncomfortable and need help. I get it; having your photo taken is not something everyone does well, unless you’re famous, and it can be uncomfortable, which is why I try and pick up on your subtle couple gestures as you interact on the day.” www.stevegroganphotography.com www.stevegroganphotography.com STEVE GROGAN PHOTOGRAPHY 07791 273 529 | www.stevegroganphotography.com Steve Grogan is a multi-award-winning Manchester-based wedding photographer. Steve tells us more: “I have more than 10 years of experience working at some of the finest wedding venues in the world. I’m a firm believer that you should be enjoying the company of your family and friends on your wedding day, so I promise not to take you away from your guests for hours of posed photos. I document your big day in a way that shows how much of a great time you and your guests were having. I feel people look their absolute best when photographed naturally; I’m absolutely not one of those annoying wedding photographers who will control your day, shout orders or tell your guests what to do. My style of wedding photography is all about people. I love people and I place great emphasis on capturing emotions. I’m an absolute sucker for smiles and laughter; capturing those fun moments for you is what really makes me tick. I truly believe that your photos should be unique, not just a repetition of someone else’s wedding. I capture your day as it unfolds naturally so that when you look back on the images, you see the story from start to finish. Genuine joy and emotion can’t be faked. I want you to look back on your wedding photos and remember how you felt at the time, not what the photographer was telling you to do. No fussing or dated clichés – just fun, spontaneous and genuine photography – there really is no need to settle for boring wedding photos.” 48
