Your North West Wedding - April/May 2024 (Issue 85)

We had Adelaide Acoustic play the guitar and sing during the ceremony. She sounded like an absolute angel, singing our songs of choice when I walked down the aisle and when we were signing the register. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room! We also had a live band called Skyknights, who really got everyone dancing! They were so flexible with song requests too and Luke’s dad closed out the night singing American Pie, which everyone really loved. Our bridesmaids chose off-the-shoulder, knee-length navy dresses from Chi Chi London, which were a combination of a silk material and a frill skirt. Luke’s best man gave a speech full of funny stories and anecdotes, and everyone was in tears of laughter. My big brother, as well as walking me down the aisle, gave a speech that was so sentimental and filled me with pride. My dress was from Dotty Boutique and was by the designer Pronovias. I felt that the dress was extremely elegant, with lots of stunning details. I was also able to have two looks for the day. I wore an overskirt for my ceremony, so there were lots of amazing layers for the photos and then I took it off in the evening so I could dance easier and also enjoy the silhouette style of the dress. Saying our vows was a really special moment. Luke’s dad did a reading as part of the ceremony, which was emotional but really memorable. It’s amazing to feel everyone’s love for you both as a couple throughout the day. Luke wore a navy tuxedo from Hawes & Curtis, which was perfect. He went shopping for it in Leeds with his mum and dad. 39 REAL WEDDINGS
