Your North East Wedding - March/April 2024 (Issue 61)

I had made a deal with my son, Nathan, that he would dance with me to Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen, and while we danced, he slipped on my train and landed flat on his bum. No one was hurt, but we laughed a lot! I wore a beautiful Maggie Sottero wedding dress called Raphael from The Wedding Wardrobe. I loved the floral lace and long sleeves and it also had a twinkling layer underneath, so it was a bit boho and princessy. I accessorised with a hair vine and veil and some green shoes for the ceremony, although I did switch into my Dr. Martens later on. I also had a personalised bridal leather jacket. It was lovely seeing all of our friends and family blend together. The effort that all our guests made to be there for our special day, some of them travelling from as far as Kent and even Cyprus, was incredibly special. To keep our guests entertained, we hired The DISCO Co North East to DJ for us and in the evening we had firepits with a marshmallow and s’mores station. My bridesmaids wore dark green full-length dresses, with a variation between the adults and the junior bridesmaid. Shaun chose a sage green tweed suit from Moss with a dark green tie. 41 REAL WEDDINGS
