Images courtesy of Unscripted Photography TAKE A CHANCE Anna and Matt lived in the same village, and went to the same schools, but never actually met until later on in life! “Over the years my friends became his friends, and we started to get to know each other that way,” says Anna. “We had a lot of nights out and holidays together, but we were never single at the same time, so nothing ever came of it. After being away for university and travelling, we found ourselves back in Newcastle at the same time, where we grew closer. Neither of us were looking for a relationship, but found ourselves wanting to spend more time together, and eventually both realised it was more than friendship.” Matt proposed on a holiday to New York in December 2019. “We’d been to see Wicked, then Matt said we should go and get a picture by the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller Centre, as I was desperate to see it at night. When we got there, Matt stopped a passer-by and asked them to take a photo – but whispered for her to take loads! When I turned around after getting ready for the picture Matt was down on one knee. I was gobsmacked, as he’d given no signals at all – and I thought I would have picked up on something!” The couple chose Northumberland’s Hallington Mill for their 2nd July, 2022, wedding.
