We hired a bubbleologist as part of the entertain ment – and are so glad we did! The pictures look spectacular and gave our day a whimsical feel. Jesse made incredible shapes and entertained guests b y putting them in bubbles! We hired the band Borderland to play at our we dding, who performed everything from the 1950s to present day music. They also learned our first dance song, Falling Slowly from the musical Once , as well as Still the One by Shania Twain, for my dance with my mum. My two bridesmaids wore maxi-length forest green dresses with off the shoulder detail and a ruffled split shoulder sleeve. Both ladies also wore a 1920s-style peacock feather clip in their hair, to tie the look together. Jack looked incredible in his three-piece Marc Darcy suit and tan broguestyle shoes. I also bought him some commissioned cufflinks as a wedding gift to represent his maternal grandparents, who are no longer with us. Jack’s two groomsmen wore their own suits but with forest green ties and cufflinks. We wanted to make sure that they felt comfortable and happy in what they wore, yet had key elements to match us and our theme. For transport, we hired a beautiful 1920s-style Regent Landaulette, decorated with ivory ribbons and floral decoratio ns. It fitted our vintage souls perfectly, and I felt like royalty travelling to the venue! Jack and I wanted something different to a traditional cake, choosing cake popsicles, cupcakes and geo hearts, which were pretty but also practical for COVID guidelines. Instead of cutting the cake, we did a pop toast with our arms linked. 29 REAL WEDDINGS
