Your North East Wedding - September/October 2022 (Issue 52)

HOT TOPIC Those in-the-know solve your wedding dilemmas A BIT FISHY My fiancé is adamant he doesn’t want a formal wedding breakfast, but I want our guests to enjoy a gourmet meal that’s going to leave them full and contented. What do you suggest? You can’t go wrong with high-quality fish and chips! Why? It’s one of those meals that puts everyone in a good mood, whether it be from seaside memories or just that nostalgic Friday night feeling. At Wilson’s Traditional Fish & Chips we put the aesthetics in our dishes, complete with complimentary portions of tartare sauce and mushy peas, garnished with a wedge of lemon and a sprig of parsley and put together in a decorative box. It’s a filling dish that will please everyone, plus you can give all your guests the same, with the only variances to your menu being those with dietary requirements – which we can of course happily accommodate. Trust us – guests at your wedding will remember the novelty of enjoying a fish and chip van at your wedding, especially one which looks as good as ours… Phil Wilson | Wilson’s Traditional Fish & Chips www.instagram.com/wilsonstraditional PLAN IN PLACE I’m feeling stressed and overwhelmed by the planning process. What are your top tips for planning a stress-free wedding? Budget for the most important things first of all, then you know you’re covered if you start to run out towards the end. Next, book your suppliers early – there’s no reason to wait, so get your date in their diary now. Communication with guests is also key – guests are definitely the most difficult part of wedding planning! A wedding website is the best way to keep them updated, ad make it as easy as possible for them to return their RSVPs with dietary requirements and food choices. Also, now’s the time to make it clear who’s invited, from the whole family or adults only. Guests will also want to know what to wear, times, transport options, accommodation choices and location. Send your Save The Dates as soon as you’ve booked your venue and ceremony so they know well in advance! Finally, book a wedding coordinator – you want to make sure everything that you’ve planned for months actually comes together on the day. Let them look after all of the logistical elements for you – because no-one should be stressed on their wedding day! Hannah Taylor | The Wedding Taylor www.theweddingtaylor.com 53 EXPERT ADVICE
