64 PROPS AND STYLING ELEMENTS We’re using more soft and pretty draping, whether on plinths with florals placed around or on large focal arches with florals and draping alongside. - Sarah Ogden, Horseshoe Flowers Looking ahead, two major trends are set to dominate! The city chic theme is ideal for couples seeking a stylish, cosmopolitan wedding. It’s urban elegance with modern décor and sleek, contemporary vibes. The other is bright and bold nuptials bursting with colour and creativity. Vibrant florals and eclectic décor make a dramatic, joyful statement. - Kara Owen, Kara-Mia Venue Styling www.blondeshot.com Texture and neutral shades are trends that have been under the radar over the past couple of years, but I expect they will become more prominent. The texture is created using fresh and dried flowers, grasses and foliage. To achieve the neutral colour scheme, Café au Lait Dahlias were the focal blooms for Emma’s bouquet and fitted in perfectly to the neutral scheme. These were complemented with bunny tail grasses, dried straw flowers, pampas and fresh and dried eucalyptus, amongst other blooms. Plus, dried flowers can be kept as a memento of the day! - Allyson Martin, Bloomery www.kategrayphotography.com Also, we still see many disco balls, but they are being taken to the next level, including being incorporated into our large floral installation pieces. - Sarah Ogden, Horseshoe Flowers The audio guestbook is growing in popularity. It allows guests to record a message to the happy couple for them to listen to after the wedding day. So many options are available now, from old vintage-style telephones to a more modern booth-style option. It’s a great idea. I wish I had been around when I got married! - Emma Whittle, Mayflower and Lily Dried flowers are definitely in vogue, and artificial flowers are more sought after, both having the advantage of keeping them afterwards without having to dry or preserve them. They’re also a good option if you’re allergic to fresh flowers, but you don’t get the gorgeous floral aromas if that’s what you want. - Vanessa Henderson, Floral Jazz
