Your London Wedding - January/February 2025 (Issue 99)

PERFECT ON PAPER As you begin planning your wedding, it’s important to remember that every detail helps tell your love story, and your wedding stationery plays a key role in setting the tone for your big day. Each piece is an opportunity to create something truly special, from save-the-dates to invitations and on-the-day stationery. Start with your save the dates. They’re your guests’ first glimpse into the celebration to come. Opt for luxurious textures and tactile finishes, like soft cotton paper or hand-pressed foil, to create a sense of elegance. Pay attention to the details, such as colour palettes that complement your theme and cohesive design elements. Incorporating custom illustrations or a monogram adds a personal touch that your guests will cherish. When planning your invitations and on-the-day items like menus, place cards, and programs, focus on creating a cohesive look. These details are what make your wedding feel thoughtfully curated and unforgettable. Working with a professional stationer ensures your vision is brought to life with expertise and care, saving you time and ensuring the perfect details. Remember, luxury is often found in the small things like the weight of the card, the smoothness of the finish, and the harmony of colours and fonts. Let your stationery wow your guests and become a treasured keepsake of your special day. Money is a huge factor that can make couples worry, so be realistic about how much you want to spend and create a manageable timeline. We recommend that you start with your venue. Ensure you view the property in mind to get a feel for the space and ask the team questions. Once this is secured, you can focus on everything else, and you’ll be able to visualise your themes, decorations, planning and more. Talk to your partner and determine what’s most important to you both. For example, if food is your highest priority, start there. Don’t be afraid to talk to your suppliers, ask questions about what works well, and pick up the phone to discuss things. There’s a person behind the company email – make use of them! Get several quotes and be honest with suppliers that you’ll be shopping around. Utilise the wedding platforms available for free to gain ideas and inspiration. Ask your married friends or suppliers for recommendations. Until that deposit is made, you have time to change your mind. Remember, you’re planning a wedding because you want to spend the rest of your life together. So, check in with each other throughout the process, and it doesn’t hurt to take a break from planning if you need one. Remember that your friends and family are there to celebrate you! So don’t spend energy worrying about the little things; make your wedding day unapologetically you. If it’s not the ‘norm’, don’t be afraid to go for it; if you like traditional, don’t feel you need to follow the ‘trends’. Your day should reflect your style and you as a couple.
