At first, we envisioned a simple wedding with just a trip to the registry office and a meal afterwards. However, as we began jotting down the names of our loved ones, it became clear that we really wanted everyone to join us for a fun celebration. We loved the original tiles and brickwork of the 19th-century pump house at Walthamstow Wetlands, which would be a beautiful backdrop for the wedding and a great warehouse space for the evening party. We wanted somewhere close to home so that all our loved ones could make it, and we had frequently visited the wetlands on walks with our young baby at the time, so it was perfect. I wore a stunning set from Cortana Bridal, a Spanish label known for its amazing designs. Mine featured a two-piece stretch linen style with long sleeves and a lovely sash tie at the back of the skirt, which I tied into a bow while dancing later in the evening. To complete my look, I added a dramatic floor-length organza bow from Kamparett and elegant long pearl drop earrings by Saskia Diez, one of my favourite jewellery designers. I felt really special but also comfortable. It felt like me and something I would like to wear all the time but a more glam version. 46
