Trends will come and go, so it’s about being inspired by what’s ‘current’ while putting your spin on it to reflect your styles and personalities. Trending at the moment is foliage (minimal flowers), it’s cost-effective and can look really magical when mixed with props such as candles. Neon signs are super-popular too and are going to be sticking around, either personalised or with a generic quote ‒ these can be purchased or hired. Couples can get creative with large inventive table plans that double up as favours. I’ve done a table plan made of wire, and all the names were printed onto luggage tags, which signified the couple’s love of travel and also became each guest’s favour to keep from the day. Another popular trend that’s not going anywhere fast, is handpainted acrylic signage. There are many signs that can be made perfectly to match the wedding colours. It’s not just about trending themes, but also choices couples make such as using large props more than once. An archway can be used for the ceremony and then also became a backdrop for the couple during the wedding breakfast. I also created a large hoop for another wedding ceremony that was then used outside as a backdrop for photographs. I encourage brides and grooms to do this if they want to splash out on a large prop at the wedding so it gets maximum exposure throughout the day!
