DRESSING THE BRIDAL PARTY 65 Top tips from the experts for dressing your bridal party All dressed up #SQUADGOALS Megan Longworth, owner of Tenterden-based Vicki’s Bridal Boutique (www.vickisbride.co.uk), says, “When it comes to choosing bridesmaids dresses, you want to give yourself plenty of time. We recommend shopping as soon as you know the colour palette of the wedding. “If bridesmaids are responsible for choosing their own outfit, it’s important to find a dress that complements the bride’s wedding dress, rather than competes with it – so avoid the same neckline and shape! “For colours, olive and sage green are tones that will stand the test of time; they’re versatile colours and are flattering on all skin tones. Green is generally a great base colour for a dress with so many shades available, and it’s very easy to colour match with flowers. Additionally, colours we are seeing a lot now are rust and copper; these colours can be difficult to wear for some but we recommend trying the colours in a range of fabrics, as a satin will look different to a chiffon or jersey material. “A trend we are loving at the moment is brides choosing to embrace a colour palette for their bridesmaids, where every bridesmaid has a different hued dress within the same tonal palette. “Finally, if the entire bridal party is struggling to find one dress that suits all, why not try a multiway bridesmaid dress? These dresses are one-size fits all, budget-friendly and can be styled in multiple different ways that is comfortable for the individual. They are also available in a range of colours and fabric options to suit numerous themes and colour schemes.” Tom Keenan Photography Tom Keenan Photography Eddy Fisher Photography
