and pumpkins decorated with Swarovski crystals to represent our girls, as their nicknames are Pumpkin and Sweetpea. My jewellery was a pair of Swarovski earrings from my grandparents, my nanny’s engagement ring and a custom-made wishbone necklace by Simon Wright with an aquamarine pendant down the back. This was really unique as it was a replica of one worn by my late mother-in-law, Pat, and was a really special wedding gift from my mum and one of my bridesmaids. They knew I wanted to honour her on my wedding day and have something with me that reminded me of her. Damian chose a Ted Baker faded blue suit from Moss. He styled it with a burnt orange tie and pocket square and a pair of Justin Reess shoes. “I had seven bridesmaids and a flowergirl,” adds the bride. “My six best friends wore beautiful burnt orange satin silk dresses from Azazie. The colour matched the groom’s and groomsmen’s ties and my two stepdaughters wore gorgeous blue floor-length dresses.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “We hired a DJ and saxophonist called Throwing Shapes for the evening entertainment, which was great fun and a huge hit with our guests,” shares Faye. “The real surprise were The Singing Waiters, who serenaded our guests with a plethora of comedy songs, both modern and classic.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “I felt quite calm throughout the morning until the nerves started to kick in,” remembers Faye. “When it came to leaving the cottage, I felt relieved that it was finally happening. Once we saw each other, we were quite emotional but also excited to be there, standing together in our favourite place, surrounded by everyone we love. We adored the ceremony. We’d written our own vows and saying them to one another after months of writing and perfecting them felt really special. “Damian’s dad passed away in 2017, and as I hadn’t met him, I decided to write him a letter telling him how I feel about Damian,” adds the bride. “I asked his groomswoman, Nikki, to read it out just before they left. Damian wrote six love letters to me, which he asked my six bridesmaids to read. Each one talked about a quality he loved about me, and he selected each bridesmaid based on the shared quality that he knew we valued in our friendship. Both of these sentimental gifts were very emotional for us, so we were both a pool of tears before we had even arrived.” FLY AWAY WITH ME “For our honeymoon, we went to the Maldives,” shares Faye. “We planned it together and it was paradise on earth.” 43 REAL WEDDINGS
