The three-tiered buttercreamstyle cake on the left has a triple-layer sponge inside and is made up of a variety of flavours. The couple’s colour scheme was white and sage green with gold leaf. It was decorated with an arrangement of fresh flowers to match the centrepieces, which included thistles to represent the couple’s Scottish heritage. The four-tiered fondant iced cake on the right is presented in blush pink and cream with hints of silver leaf veining. Each layer varied in depth and the fondant hand ruffled at the bottom is complemented by an arrangement of silk flowers in corresponding colours. The design was finished with a personalised silver acrylic cake topper. WONDERLAND SPRINKLES Talía at Wonderland Sprinkles (www.wonderlandsprinkles.co.uk) shares two of her designs with different flavours to help inspire you. This stunning five-tier wedding cake has delicate stencil and pearl sprinkle details, edible glitter squares and neutral-tone fresh and dried florals. With a combination of delicious flavours, including white chocolate and hazelnut, salted caramel and lemon. I loved creating this piece as the varied tier heights are unusual from my other bookings. I believe it gives it a subtlety of elegance, especially with a “floating” top tier to catch the eye. The three-tier design was a timedemanding, alluring design, and by far the most rewarding wedding cake I’ve created. Coated in a mountain of edible glitter squares, subtle stencil detail and artificial autumnal flowers in fluffy, flavorful Victoria sponge with a trio of delectable fillings: chocolate orange, lemon curd and raspberry jam. I idolise this cake for the sheer determination I needed to complete it into the early hours of the morning, but mainly it was due to the bride and groom being in absolute awe at the glamorous artwork I delivered for their special day, along with a tasty treat table of dreams. www.joeburfordphotography.com www.instagram.com/stevenpcollins
