CAKES 53 Sweet treats Cake makers share their favourite contrasting bakes BLOSSOMS AND CAKES We asked Eleanor from Blossoms and Cakes in Bromley (https://blossomsandcakes.wixsite.com/blossomsandcakes) to share two of her company’s favourite contrasting cakes. Traditional cakes, like the two-tiered design on the left, can be stacked or displayed on a set of cake stands. These are available in a variety of sizes and tiers in either a modern, contemporary design or a more traditional option. Cupcake bouquets like the one on the right are available in a variety of sizes and work as a main wedding cake or table centrepiece. Wedding cakes are quickly becoming something more than just a sweet treat. They are works of art that can incorporate your personalities, themes and the time of year. With so many options to choose from, it can feel overwhelming, but don’t panic; there is something out there to suit everyone. To help, we’ve asked local talented cake makers to share two of their favourite contrasting designs... HALL OF CAKES Nicola from Hall of Cakes (www.hallofcakes.co.uk) shares two of her most popular designs. The five-tiered white cake on the left has an attractive yet rustic look. This style of cake will not break the wedding budget and will look stunning when dressed with fresh flowers provided by your wedding florist that complement your colour scheme or big day theme. The second design on the right is probably our most popular design over the last year. It’s classic, beautiful and very stylish.
