Your Kent Wedding - September/October 2023 (Issue 110)

I wore Ashton by Phoenix Gowns. I had the spaghetti straps removed and a corset back added. The dress was A-line, but I opted to wear a bigger petticoat to give it a fuller effect. I was constantly amazed by the level of detail in it, my favourite being the tiny daisy in the centre of the bodice. For our daughter, Daisy, I wanted something with a ballerina look to it, thinking about the ballet dancers in The Phantom of the Opera. For the walk down the aisle we managed to convince her to wear the flowercrown we’d bought her, but it was quickly whipped off afterwards! As a surprise I had a picture of the two of us added to the underside of Aaron’s tie, a picture of him and his dad was under his dad’s tie and a picture of me and my dad under my dad’s tie. For Aaron, excitement turned to nerves while he was waiting for me to arrive at the altar. “But,” he says, “When I saw our daughter Daisy come down the aisle as our flowergirl my nerves eased, then I saw my bride and I couldn’t stop smiling.” The bridesmaids wore pale blue and the detailing on their gowns paid slight homage to mine. Aaron wore Brocton by Peter Posh, a sky blue three-piece tweed suit. His best man was dressed to match. 40
