Your Kent Wedding - July/August 2023 (Issue 109)

IN THE Historymaking Pantone colour of the year Viva Magenta pulls together this seamless blend of Goodnestone Park’s modern and historical sides Images courtesy of Sammy Taylor Photography Historically, Goodnestone Park has been a dry-hire venue, with the 18th-century house included. However, couples then needed to hire a marquee and anything else they might require. But that’s all set to change now that the venue has enlisted the help of the Wedding Dolls to provide its awardwinning coordination service to all of its couples. That’s not all that’s changed, as Bohemia Canvas has designed and built a bespoke Italian-inspired orangery marquee, which now sits proudly among the exclusive-use gardens that surround the house. No doubt, there’s something special about Goodnestone Park, from the 12-bedroom house available to couples for two nights or more, to the glorious grounds that include three ceremony locations, plus an on-site church. It’s a weekend wedding venue steeped in history and character that’s simultaneously warm and welcoming, inviting couples to stay, relax and celebrate. Joanne Scott, director of The Wedding Dolls, says, “We invited a team of amazing suppliers who were excited to work together on this colourful showcase. We used the clash of colours from the hand-painted canvas lining in the Orangery marquee to inspire the styling that celebrates colour and texture clashes. We wanted to show couples that they shouldn’t feel frightened to go bold on their big day! So, we created styling elements that bring together the predicted trend for bright hues, while offering a nod to the antique elements of the house.” 67 LOCAL SHOOT
