Your Hampshire and Dorset Wedding - September/October 2024 (Issue 106)

Instead of table names, the hosts opted for numbered tables, which were ordered from Etsy and displayed on mini easels. The table signs matched the script and gold design of the other stationery items, complementing the event’s overall theme. Personalised confetti bags were provided to make each guest feel included. The font and colours coordinated with the menus for a cohesive look. The wedding menu was entirely vegetarian, including breakfast and canapés, reflecting the couple’s lifestyle and preferences. In the evening, an Indian buffet incorporated a cultural background into the celebration. A white welcome sign with black scripted font added a classy, modern touch, matching the menus and confetti bags. An advice board was available for guests to write on, now displayed at the couple’s home as a reminder of the day. The entrance hallway featured light-up letters spelling out “Mr and Mrs Marsh,” giving the traditional styling a modern twist. After the event, a shuttle was arranged to transport guests back to the nearby hotel to ensure a stress-free experience for guests. LOOKING THE PART The bride found her perfect dress by Made with Love Bridal at Ava Louise Bridal in Southampton. She comments, “When I first went wedding dress shopping, I had no clue what style I was looking for – I was completely lost! However, as soon as I tried on this dress, I knew it was for me. I loved the elegant shape and how well it complemented my figure. The intricate petal detailing was a unique touch that I adored, especially since it matched perfectly with my spring wedding theme. I opted for two different looks! I aimed for a sophisticated and refined vibe during the day, so my hair was styled in an updo, held in place by the Petite Fleur clay floral comb by Megan Therese Couture. I accessorised with the Marine Pearl Earrings from the same collection. To complete the outfit, I chose the ‘Amelie’ shoe from Rainbow Club, a closed-toe option that complemented the overall look.” Jhanvi opted for a more laid-back evening style while maintaining an elegant appearance. The hairstylist came back to let her hair loose and remove the veil. This time, the bride decided to go for glamorous Hollywood waves and switched her earrings to the Petite Antoinette, perfectly complementing the dress and adding a touch of nighttime glamour. Shoes were swapped for the Clara from the Rainbow Club, which were open-toe and ideal for the evening. George, his groomsmen and the fathers wore tuxedos from Moss. Each had a white rose buttonhole. George caught the eye with his unique touch; he was the sole person donning a waistcoat with his tuxedo. The bridesmaids looked stunning in satin cowl neck dresses from Pretty Lavish, all in a lovely light pink shade that perfectly complemented the colour scheme. The bride gifted them pearl earrings to complete their look. The mothers also wore light pink dresses to coordinate the theme. TIME TO CELEBRATE When guests arrived, the Bossard String Quartet perfectly complemented the Bridgerton-inspired vibe with a memorable performance! The team played throughout the ceremony and the drinks reception, which guests absolutely loved! Many mentioned how much they enjoyed the unique blend of traditional classical music with modern songs that they could sing along to. Colin Phillips - Magician, a true master of his craft, entertained guests during the drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening. His mind-blowing tricks left everyone in awe, but his inclusive approach truly set him apart. The bride’s words capture this perfectly, “Colin stole the show! He brought such an exciting energy to the event and my two young cousins were absolutely mesmerised. We hired Colin with them in mind, but he captivated guests of all ages! He engaged with every single person, visiting each table during the wedding reception.” In the evening, Chris Noon Entertainment provided a magic mirror photo booth and great DJ hits while Olly Goodwin entertained everyone with his saxophone. The bride continues, “Chris did an amazing job as the DJ; he gladly accepted song requests from the guests, making them feel valued. He ensured everyone felt included and kept the dancefloor busy all night. Olly impressed the guests with his Saxophone skills. He engaged with everyone and created a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. His diverse selection of songs catered to guests of all ages, ensuring everyone had a great time. Our loved ones also adored the magic mirror, dressed in props and posing for photos. The queue to try it out was incredibly long, proving its popularity!” 35 REAL WEDDINGS
