EXCHANGING VOWS We’ve just started wedding planning, and our friend mentioned hiring a celebrant. What is the supplier’s role? In a world where individuality and personalisation are highly valued, the role of a celebrant has emerged as an exciting way of having a completely personalised ceremony crafted specifically for you! A celebrant will take the time to get to know you as a couple, understand your love story, and craft a ceremony that celebrates your love as well as commitment, along with your personal beliefs, values, and specific ceremony preferences. They’ll help you articulate your feelings and emotions, creating a heartfelt and memorable experience. Celebrants are skilled officiants who have been trained in creating and conducting personalised ceremonies tailored specifically to the couple they’re working with. No two ceremonies are alike! Any element that you would like to include in your ceremony can be incorporated, as there are no restrictions apart from any that might be imposed by the venue! One of the key distinguishing features of a celebrant is their focus on customisation. They offer a refreshing alternative to traditional religious or civil ceremonies, as they provide the flexibility to design a ceremony that truly resonates with a couple’s love story and can reflect different cultural backgrounds and faith traditions or simply provide a creative and personal celebration ceremony. Rather than adhering to predetermined scripts or religious doctrines, celebrants work closely with their clients to co-create ceremonies that authentically reflect their personalities, stories, and relationships. This collaborative process allows individuals to include personal touches, reflections of their love journey, recognition of important people or events. If desired, they can include rituals or symbolic elements that hold deep significance. Whether you’re planning to have an intimate wedding, a garden setting, a festival-style event, a country house celebration, a wedding at a hotel or even a secret elopement, a celebrant will adapt to whatever setting or style you choose, ensuring that ceremonies feels genuine and memorable. Andrea Lindsay | Halo Celebrancy | www.halocelebrancy.com TO DINE FOR We’re having an informal wedding and would love to wow our guests with a tasty menu. What do you suggest? Food doesn’t have to be pretentious; it must taste good and leave everyone feeling great. While creating menus for all types of weddings and foodies alike over the last 20 years, there’s always one requirement − high-quality, tasty food. We recently had a relaxed but trendy wedding with a fantastic menu. On arrival, bespoke bride and groom cocktails were served with canapés of mini-Yorkshire puddings with beef and horseradish filling, prawn and chorizo bruschetta, and mini-smoked salmon and dill bagels. For day guests, a mezze grazing table treated loved ones to a tailored selection of local, quality produce. Evening guests were offered a tapasstyle ‘food court’ with a variety of foods, such as various paellas, gourmet burgers, woodfired stone-baked pizzas, 10-hour slow-cooked pulled pork baps and chicken stir-fry noodles, which can accommodate all dietary requirements. Finally, a cocktail bar made the special day end on the highest note, with in-house creations seeing the couple devising their signature cocktails to be enjoyed by all! Our aim is to create happy memories by sharing good food and good company. We always succeed in creating smiles. This is your chance to create life-long memories with your favourite people. Choose a unique activity to create a fabulous bonding experience for you and your hens. Our Ultimate Hen Experience takes place in stunning woodland and allows you to bond around the glow of a campfire. You’ll all create a gourmet campfire meal together, build a cosy shelter and shoot arrows in a competitive archery competition in the forest. The next day, take a gentle hike together along the coast path and go for an optional wild swim at a secret swim spot − how’s that for creating unique memories with your friends? The beauty of this type of experience is that it’s adventurous but caters to all fitness levels, enthusiasm levels and ages. Rosie Tanner | Land & Wave https://landandwave.co.uk 86
