Katie says, “We spoke to DJ Carlos a few days before the wedding, told him our first dance song, Alone by Jessie Ware, are discussed tracks we really didn’t want played and ones we did. We talked about things we normally listened to and that was it! He absolutely nailed the choices on the day; I didn’t leave the dancefloor all night and the energy was amazing! We also loved having the musicians walking through the dancing crowd. “We had ‘his and hers’ cocktails that we made sure were all lined up for everyone to have straight away after dinner to give everyone a boost − it certainly did the trick. All cocktails were amazing and really elevated things! “On the Sunday we all reconvened at a pub in Ringwood for the debrief. We had a buffet, ate the left-over cake and were able to talk to all those we didn’t get lots of time with on the day.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS The couple honestly loved the whole day and wish it could have gone on forever! The bride says, “We spent Friday night apart with our families and wedding parties in Somerley, which was very special. We had a private chef cater us dinner in the dining room, where we were able to catch up and get excited for the big day! You don’t often get to spend loads of time with people at weddings, so this was really special. All of Dan’s groomsmen stayed on the estate in the cottage and farmhouse, and went to Ringwood to a pub for dinner. It was perfect to be able to spend quality time with our nearest and dearest. “We had speeches from both the best men and the maidof-honour that were funny and sentimental. My father did a wonderful speech and my brother, who was the MC, really was a magnificent showman who brought it all together with excellent intros! His wife, Lara, made sure music was flowing all evening during the dinner and our entrance song was on point! Our wedding parties just really stepped up and were such a huge support making sure everything ran so smoothly.” HONEYMOON The couple had a mini-moon at Limewood House Hotel to unwind together and refelect on the day. The bride says, “It was a real treat and very special! We have just emigrated to Dubai where we headed back after the wedding and Dan had another week off. Although it wasn’t a honeymoon per say, we enjoyed exploring our new city together! We hope to do a full honeymoon next year.” 38
