Your Herts and Beds Wedding - February/March 2025 (Issue 108)

Having my granddad give me away was such an emotional moment. He had cancer and only a few months left to live, so it was my wish for him to walk me down the aisle. He’s always been like a father figure to me, and having him there by my side was incredibly meaningful. It was a moment I’ll cherish forever. I felt so calm and relaxed in the morning. My bridesmaid and mum were singing and listening to music, which made everything feel so peaceful! Sam, on the other hand, was a little nervous. It was a lot for him to handle, especially with our three boys to get ready as well. One of the most special moments was when we gave each other cards to read – it was such a lovely touch. Sam also surprised me with perfume, and I got him the matching aftershave, which felt personal and thoughtful. Our number one goal when planning our wedding was to make it truly about us, doing what we wanted and keeping it personal. We wanted the day to reflect our love and personality, without feeling pressured to follow traditions or expectations that didn’t feel right for us. We visited a few wedding venues, but when we saw Parklands Quendon Hall, we instantly fell in love. The grounds were stunning, and everything we needed was all in one place, which made it perfect. It was the one venue we both agreed on without hesitation, it just felt right for our special day. REAL WEDDINGS 35
