Your Herts and Beds Wedding - August/September 2024 (Issue 105)

It’s hard to pinpoint how we felt. It was a massive mix of feelings: overwhelmed, excited, joyful, and incredibly happy. We both wish to do it again to take it all in. We aimed to make our wedding day a true reflection of who we are as a couple, ensuring that every moment and detail held significance and purpose. Planning the entire day allowed us to cherish the time spent together preparing for our special day. We added an LED neon ‘All we need is love’ light behind our sweetheart table and a backdrop hoop with drapes and flowers. The venue provided all the catering! We had a three-course meal followed by stone-baked pizzas for the evening. Our centrepieces were rustic and simple! A blush pink cheesecloth runner was gathered around small vases and gold candle holders, all complemented by artificial botanical stems and twisted dinner candles. My best friend and bridesmaid helped our seven-year-old daughter write a speech, which she proudly read in front of everyone after the wedding breakfast. She was amazing, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! I toyed with many ideas for displaying the table plan as I wanted something that could be kept after the day. I found an example on Pinterest where the table plan was stuck onto a mirror using wax seal stickers, which doubled as a photo opportunity – it was perfect! We now have the same mirror in our home as a constant reminder. REAL WEDDINGS 35
