My bridesmaids loved their matching robes to wear while they were getting ready! I tried on about 50 wedding dresses before making my decision! I wanted something floaty and boho but found that these styles didn’t suit me. I was encouraged to try on something more fitted and Sally at Helena Fortley boutique made me realise that even though a dress might not be perfect when you first try it on, it can be customised. I chose the style called Nini by Enzoani because I loved the very flattering lace detail, and the scalloped detail on the train. I wore a pair of block heel shoes by the designer Freya Rose which were comfortable but I changed into a pair of personalised trainers with my new married name and wedding date on in the evening. I had my dress customised including adding more lace detail to the back, Bardot-inspired sleeves and the seamstress at Hele na Fortley made me a custom-made cape rather than a veil - which I lov ed! The finger loops on the cape made for some excellent photos and not ha ving a veil meant I could add roses to my hair which matched our theme. My favourite accessory was a personalised denim jacket with Mrs Rushworth on the back that I als o wore in the evening. We had a drinks reception with the usual fizz but also had a gin and tonic station and local beers from Matt’s native Yorkshire (courtesy of Vocation brewery which happens to be the business of one of our ushers.) After dinner, our guests were served Espresso Martinis to get the party going, and there were far too many rounds of Jägerbombs consumed on the dancefloor! “After our wedding, we were grateful for the video. Our photographer and videographer, Kate and Jon Gray, a husband and wife duo, ensured our memories will last a lifetime. Our video was set fast-paced to music, and we’ll never tire of watching it.The night it arrived in our email inbox we watched it on repeat and thought it was money well spent.” - Gemma and Matt REAL WEDDINGS 35
