Your East Midlands Wedding - April/May 2024 (Issue 61)

We didn’t stop smiling and felt so content that the two years of planning and saving were all worth it. Our dear friend Mike conducted the ceremony blessing, and Mark’s brother Duncan gave an adapted reading based on the children’s book Love From The Crayons by Drew Dewalt. We had some of our best friends sing and play the piano for our wedding entrance; our guests thought we had hired professionals! We opted for unstructured fresh and dried florals in rich autumnal tones. I wore a Stella York dress from La Belle Boutique in Nottingham with a Vivi Embellish headdress. I felt tearful with all the crazy emotions when I first saw myself and happy my vision had turned out so well. The original features attracted us to The West Mill! The beauty of it being an old cotton mill really appealed to us as I work in the textile industry. The aesthetics and quirkiness felt like it was unlike any wedding we had been to before. 34
