Your East Anglian Wedding - April/May 2025 (Issue 72)

Your questions answered! HOT TOPIC AL FRESCO VIBES Q For our summer wedding, we’d love to create an outdoor dining experience that reflects the relaxed time of year – what do you suggest? Emma Boubaker, of Bayfield Catering, says: For outside wedding dining, I always suggest beautiful sharing boards; they are a brilliant icebreaker for creating conversation between guests getting to know each other – sharing food is a great way to enjoy a relaxed, outside, dining experience. The best ingredients to match the season, especially in summer, is an abundance of local berries and fruit, freshly grown salads from our farmer Jonny up at New Barn Farm, which is walking distance for me to collect – cannot get any fresher! – along with local asparagus which is a light but filling summer food teamed with meats from our local butcher HV Graves. We love this sort of dining especially on a beautiful summer’s day under the canopy of a stretch tent surrounded by the flowers of summer – bliss! 01263 741 497 www.instagram.com/bayfieldcatering www.bayfieldcatering.co.uk AFFAIRS IN ORDER Q My partner and I came into our relationship with multiple assets and we’re tying the knot next year. I feel we should consider a pre-nup – help? Anna Cross, Legal Director in Ellisons’ Family Law team, says: Pre-nuptial agreements offer couples transparency and peace of mind, helping them enter marriage with a clear understanding of their financial rights and responsibilities. Our research shows that more people are seeing pre-nups as a positive, proactive step rather than a sign of distrust. It’s also common for parents to encourage their children to consider pre-nups to safeguard family wealth or business assets, and to protect family legacies. For couples considering a pre-nuptial agreement, we recommend seeking expert legal advice at least six months before you are planning to get married. While pre-nups aren’t automatically binding in England and Wales, courts are increasingly upholding those that tick all the required boxes. Seeking expert legal advice ensures couples approach marriage with confidence, particularly when significant family assets are involved. 01473 230 033 www.facebook.com/EllisonsSolicitors www.ellisonssolicitors.com 76
