The tableplan was displayed on a Christmas tree, using the 12 Days of Christmas as table names. Our main feature for the centrepieces were potted hellebores (the winter rose), as I don’t like the waste of lots of fresh flowers and it meant some guests were able to take them home to plant in their gardens and remember us when it flowers each year. The bouquets were all white and green to keep in with the theme, hellebores were also featured to link in with the centerpieces. Our place names were handmade clay stars from TheDoodleShed, so that each guest could take them away and hang on their Christmas tree. I arrived at the Abbey in our friend’s green defender (named Fae) which perfectly suited our colour scheme. It also held memories from our visits to National Trust sites with the owner Sam, who drove me and my dad there in the morning, and Alex and I back to the reception – this was a lovely trip down memory lane. We hired a Red London Bus to take guests from the Abbey to Kimberley Hall – this was a nod to our days living in London. The favours were handmade napkins in William Morris Winter Berry Fabric (made by PinkCottageStyle aka mum, she was busy sewing for months, thanks mum!). Many know that I have a large collection (obsession) of napkins, so it seemed fitting. 43 REAL WEDDINGS
