As our wedding was in early December and my dress had thin straps, I needed an accessory to keep me warm, so I chose a fauxfur bridal wrap from Helen Moore. I chose not to have a veil but had a tiara instead to add a touch of Christmas sparkle! Our vicar even referred to me as the Winter Princess! Alex wore a morning suit, (sourced from Claremont Direct in Watton) with a green tie that had the Norfolk crest on! Alex also bought these as a gift for his ushers to wear on the day. My bridesmaids wore forest-green stain dresses from ReWritten; three wore wrap dresses and two had a floor-length halterneck style. I also bought them cream shawls to keep them warm throughout the day. Alex and I have spent many weekends visiting National Trust sites and always loved the style and character of historic homes, (we also love watching period dramas together!). We knew what we were looking for in a venue, and Kimberley Hall certainly ticked this box! We wanted a venue where we could have family stay for the weekend. Kimberley Hall had plenty of space in the main house, the East Wing, a small gate house and a beautiful garden cottage a short walk off the main drive. The ceremony felt so special and although there were lots of people with us, Alex and I felt it was intimate and personal. We are finding it hard to put into words, it was an amazing experience, and we couldn’t stop smiling. We can’t wait to watch it back on our videos and see it from our guests’ point of view. My dress was from Adella Bridal in Ketteringham, designed by its founder Amy. The style was exactly what I was looking for, classic and elegant with a V-neckline and an A-line skirt in satin. The dress had a low back and long circular train with beautiful buttons all the way down. Once we found Kimberley Hall, we were looking for local churches to the venue and walked into Wymondham, looked up and there was the abbey! We were immediately drawn in and found that the inside was even more spectacular (if you haven’t already been we recommend that you do!). 42
