Your East Anglian Wedding - December/January 2024/2025 (Issue 70)

TIME TO CELEBRATE “To keep our guests entertained, we had a live band called Shelby Street perform,” remembers Kate. “They played all of our favourite songs and a few sentimental tunes that commemorated some of our loved ones who couldn’t be with us.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “I remember feeling surrounded by a bubble of love and laughter, and feeling really excited, like a little kid again,” says Kate. “Having all our nearest and dearest attend our day was so special to both of us. There were nerves right before I walked down the aisle, but I was excited to see Dan standing at the end waiting for me. The day went by in a blur; everything seemed to fly by, except for the moment I walked over to the church. For me, that moment seemed to have stood still. I remember looking around at my bridesmaids and thinking how lucky I was to have the family and friends that I do. The walk across the grass from the venue to the church was calming and I was filled with excitement to see Dan’s face when he finally saw me.” The couple had wonderful support from their family and friends. “My best friend and bridesmaid, Laura, created our beautiful flowers along with her team at Veridian Green Styling,” shares the bride. “So many people helped get everything from Essex to Norfolk and assisted us with the setup and clearing up the day after. We were truly blessed to share such a wonderful day with such an amazing group of people. “My father pre-recorded his speech because he was worried his nerves may get the better of him on the day, and I know he wanted everything to be perfect for me,” adds Kate. “We all watched it via a projector before our wedding breakfast and it had the whole room in tears. It’s nice to know that I have this lovely recording that I can keep forever and re-watch it time and time again.” FLY AWAY WITH ME “We’re currently organising our honeymoon to Thailand,” says the bride. “Our son, Reggie, turned one in November, so we’ve been planning the trip for after his birthday.” KATE AND DAN’S TOP TIPS “Once you have decided on a detail or supplier, stop scrolling through social media and looking at other options,” explains Kate. “I found that the constant questioning of if I had chosen the right option was a buzzkill, especially if you come across something that may have been better suited for you. Make your decisions and remain solid in your choices; it really helps moving forward with planning and avoids going round and round in circles. Cliché, I know, but the day goes so quickly, nothing will prepare you for how quickly the day flies by. Make sure you soak it all up and grab a moment alone with your new husband or wife. You won’t regret it.” 43 REAL WEDDINGS
