Your East Anglian Wedding - December/January 2023/2024 (Issue 64)

NEWS Nearlywed All the latest from around the region HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Susan McGregor Celebrant is celebrating one year as a wedding celebrant – congratulations! “I have loved officiating the weddings I undertook this year; the highlights include my first wedding in a beautiful family garden in the Suffolk countryside and another marrying a fabulous couple who, having married each other over 35 years ago and then sadly divorced, decided they were ‘better together’ and tied the knot for a second time,” says Susan. “Next year I have a range of bookings already; June and August are the busiest months so far, and I’m looking forward to giving them all a wonderful ceremony to cherish and remember forever! I would love any couple looking for a beautiful, personalised wedding ceremony to get in touch with me for a no-obligation chat to talk over their plans. Having a wedding ceremony planned and prepared with love and attention is what every couple deserves. “I will be exhibiting at the Hintlesham Hall Wedding Show in January and the Newmarket Wedding Show in February. It’s a lovely time to chat with and meet wonderful couples who are beginning to plan their wedding day and already know they want something more than an ‘ordinary’ ceremony.” Head over to www.susanmcgregorcelebrant.co.uk for more information. JUST THE TWO OF US The Guildhall in Bury St. Edmunds is offering a special deal for micro-weddings. Priced at £400 for the ceremony (normally £550), the deal is perfect for couples looking to tie the knot in January, February, or March 2024, from Tuesday to Thursday, with up to eight of their nearest and dearest. The ceremony will be held in the Robing Room, which was used in the past for the mayor and other dignitaries of the town to change into their ceremonial robes. The price includes access to The Guildhall on your wedding day for 45 minutes before the ceremony and up to one hour afterwards. You can arrange for drinks to be served either in the garden, the Robing Room or the Royal Observer Corps Ops Room after the ceremony, if you wish. You have access to the courtyard and gardens (weather permitting) for photographs, and volunteer witnesses can be provided if required for a small donation to Guildhall funds. As The Guildhall has a fully fitted catering kitchen, you can have an intimate lunch or dinner served to your guests, and the team can recommend a selection of excellent caterers who will be happy to provide pricing.
