Your East Anglian Wedding - October/November 2023 (Issue 63)

Q&A Fashion &Beauty Local experts offer advice on how to look your big-day best BRIDAL GLOW I’ve never had a spray tan before. How long before the wedding should I book it, and what should I be aware of before booking? A spray tan is gorgeous against a white dress, and the best part is that it can look really natural. As your wedding is such an important occasion, I recommend booking a trial tan at least two weeks before your big day so you have time to decide which colour is perfect for you. If you’re having a make-up or hair trial, book your tan trial a day or two before so you can see what the complete look will be like. A trial will also give you an idea of how to prepare for the tan as well as how to look after it to prolong the results. An experienced spray tan artist should be able to provide you with this kind of advice. Book your actual spray tan two days before your wedding to allow enough time for the bronzer from the solution to be fully washed off by showering the day before and on the day of the wedding. Pay special attention to under your arms when showering and use your hands to make sure there is no bronzer remaining to rub off onto your dress. Having your spray tan two days before will also allow time for the colour to settle to create the perfect natural glow. In order to get your hair looking its best for your big day, you need to start investing and looking after it at least a year before. Have regular trims, at least every eight weeks or so, to keep the ends looking good. Ensure you have your colour the way you want it at least six months before the wedding so that you can maintain it in the run-up. Using a hair mask once or twice a week will help repair any damage, and heat spray is a must every time you blow-dry or style your hair. Healthy hair is only achievable if you’re willing to put the work in at home using good, salon-quality hair products and get into a good routine of seeing your stylist regularly.
