Consider which outdoor venue set-up will best fit your guest list and plans. For example, tipis are perfect for intimate settings, and they can easily be connected so that guests can flow from one space to another. Alternatively, sailcloth tents make for great performance spaces for festival-inspired weddings, and stretch tents provide a simple and elegant canopy for bars or chill-out zones. Next, pick your décor. To create a whimsical wedding scene, use bunting, twinkling fairylights, and colourful balloons to bring a simple tent to life. When working within a budget, look out for décor from unexpected places. For example, haystacks can make perfect spots for lounging, and second-hand furniture will help to create an eclectic, vintage look for your wedding. Finally, it’s important that the entertainment matches the vibes of your party. Interactive photo booths with themed props are always a popular option. We have also noticed a trend for funfairs this summer, with brides and grooms incorporating dodgem rides and even a ferris wheel to create a spectacular Glastonbury-inspired celebration. At Haycock Manor Hotel, we only host one wedding at a time, meaning that you and your guests have our undivided attention throughout your special day. Ask for seating numbers for each of the spaces; for example, our Manor Suite, licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, is abundant in light and comfortably seats up to 80 guests with the option of extending further if required. While our iconic Haycock Suite, with its soaring oak beams, ornate fireplace, private entrance, and bar, can accommodate up to 250 seated guests. Check with your venue if confetti is allowed on the grounds, as some may require you to use biodegradable versions for those all-important photographs.
