Your East Anglian Wedding - October/November 2023 (Issue 63)

delightful they were and how incredible the food was! We can’t recommend them enough! We went for a two-course wedding breakfast and then served our wedding cake as dessert. For evening food, we had pulled pork burgers and loaded fries. This was great grab-and-go food for us keen dancers and for everyone socialising.” DRESSED TO IMPRESS “I wore a Stella York dress called 7126 from The Bridal Lounge in Hadleigh,” explains the bride. “Charlotte was absolutely amazing and so helpful; I can’t recommend her enough. She helped me and two of my sisters choose our dream wedding dresses, which is lovely because we are all very different. When I went dress shopping, I was adamant that I didn’t want anything extravagant. Charlotte found a dress, and that was the one! I didn’t want to take it off; it felt like me with the flowers and the delicate layers of tulle. The dress felt so romantic, and I couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle to marry my best friend. I knew he would love it too. “My dress was altered by Sandra Mary,” continues Molly. “Sandra was wonderful; she’s known me for many years, so it was lovely for her to alter my wedding dress. As I’m just over 5ft, I had a lot of material taken from the bottom of my dress. I was worried I would lose some of the beautiful details, but Sandra moved these around, making sure nothing was cut off.” Zach and his groomsmen chose matching suits from Suit Direct. “As Zach wears a suit for work, he was very keen to have a three-piece to make it feel more special,” recalls Molly. “He went for a light blue jacket and trousers and a waistcoat in royal blue. As a finishing touch, Zach and his best man wore skeleton pocket watches; this is something Zach has been collecting since he was young. “Our bridesmaids dresses were from JJ’s House,” adds Molly. “I fell in love with the dusky blue colour and cross-over design.” TIME TO CELEBRATE “We hired My Big Fat Wedding Disco to keep everyone entertained, as we love to dance,” reveals Molly. “The dancefloor was filled all night with people of all ages. Our family and friends got involved, and the DJ even hosted an oldfashioned jive for my nana and her friend. They also catered to our unique music taste, playing everything from country music to rap, and all requests were played within minutes, which made everyone feel included in the day.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “Surprisingly, neither of us were nervous, as we kept saying our lives weren’t going to change as we already lived like an old married couple,” says Molly. “It was an unbelievable experience for us to see each other at the aisle. When we took each other’s hands, we couldn’t stop smiling because we were so happy to be saying, ‘I do’. The speeches were also a big moment for us; we only had three, one from the groom, one from the father-ofthe-bride, and one from the best man. They seemed to get better and better! We were all crying and in fits of laughter in the same minute. It was a day filled with lots of love and laughter. “During our wedding ceremony, we were both laughing with our guests as Zach tried to put the ring on my right finger, and when told it was the wrong hand, he carried on trying to get it on,” continues the bride. “Another fantastic part of the day was seeing Nana Janet on the dancefloor at 80 years old. She always says how much she loved to dance and how much she misses it. When she was on the dancefloor and was asked if she needed a chair, she took that as a challenge to dance even harder.” 41 REAL WEDDINGS
