Q&A Fashion and Beauty Local experts offer advice on how to look your big-day best SOME MUCH NEEDED TLC Why do we need to change our skincare routine in the summer? As we transition into the warmer seasons, it’s a good idea to focus on rejuvenating and refreshing your skin after months of harsh cold weather and central heating. Look out for the following ingredients in your skincare – they may already be in your bathroom cabinet waiting to be used. Hyaluronic acid – this amazing ingredient binds to water and helps to hydrate the skin; it’s perfect for when the air is not as dry as it is during winter. Vitamin C – This works as an antioxidant and helps to brighten skin and protect it from damaging UV rays, making it ideal for when the sun finally comes out again. Niacinamide – This is quite a trendy skincare ingredient at the moment, it can work wonders reducing inflammation and soothing the skin. Ideal if you suffer from allergies and skin sensitivity. Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) – This might sound scary because of the ‘acid’ part of the name, but both glycolic acid and lactic acid (types of AHA) are gentle enough to use on the skin for exfoliation and removing dead skin cells. They help to reveal smoother and brighter skin. Lightweight moisturisers – You may have enjoyed using a heavier moisturiser in the depths of winter, but as the weather gets warmer you can switch to something lighter. Look for ingredients like aloe vera, chamomile and cucumber to soothe and hydrate your skin. What colours and styles should we look for? Your groomsmen’s outfits should follow a similar theme to the groom and best man. Firstly, decide how the groom will be styled and this will narrow the choices for your groomsmen. In terms of timescale, we suggest you come for fittings four months before the big day. There are so many options available, but a traditional morning suit is still very popular. A classic lounge suit is on-trend and offers a slightly less formal option. Evening suits are also growing in popularity for wedding parties. Styles include satin lapels, coloured velvets and paisley prints. Tweed is the latest trend for weddings. Here at Golding of Newmarket, we offer a mix-and-match tweed in blue and brown that can be adapted to suit the style of the wedding. Our popular ranges include Cheltenham with black tails and stripe trousers, the Newmarket range in navy blue and Blenheima, which is ideal for a summer wedding. If your party contains children, they can be fitted within the ranges too. The team at Golding of Newmarket www.coes.co.uk 86
