IAN WEBBER RETURNS TO DEVON’S GIDLEIGH PARK AS EXECUTIVE HEAD CHEF Award-winning Gidleigh Park in Chagford, Devon has welcomed back Ian Webber as its new executive head chef. With a passion for celebrating the best ingredients, Ian enjoys a reputation for creating dishes with a clear focus on great flavour and strives to work with suppliers of ethically grown and raised produce. Ian commented, “It’s great to be back at Gidleigh Park and I am very proud to take up the position of executive head chef at this iconic English hotel with its long-standing history of excellence, following in the footsteps of some great names that I have long respected. The kitchen team here is ambitious, driven, and dedicated to creating delicious dishes delivered with exceptional hospitality for all our guests. Working closely with our talented team, including general manager Alex Barrau, restaurant manager Marek Wozniak and our estate manager Andrew Brimblecombe, we maximise and celebrate the use of produce from the 107-acre Gidleigh Park Estate, and warmly host all our guests. I can’t wait to welcome back those who I have cooked for in the past, and to create memorable dishes for new guests alike”. Gidleigh Park is open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday, and for lunch on Friday and Saturday, with a three-course lunch menu offered at £95 per person, including a chilled glass of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée. In further news at the property, Ian Webber has retained its Michelin star, with the news announced at the Michelin Guide Ceremony for Great Britain & Ireland 2025. A celebration of Ian’s return to Gidleigh Park, the Michelin star is Ian’s first, and continues Gidleigh Park’s long heritage with the Michelin Guide which describes Gidleigh Park’s restaurant as “situated inside a grand Edwardian mansion, this is the epitome of country house dining; the setting, both inside and out, is beautiful, while the cooking is underpinned by superb premium ingredients.” Gidleigh Park offers the perfect blend of old-fashioned charm and contemporary styling with luxurious fabrics placed alongside antiques and original pieces of art decorating restored wood panelling. This Tudor-style house sits within 107 acres of beautifully maintained gardens and woodland perched on the northern bank of the Upper Teign River on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. An intimate ceremony with up to 10 guests can be enjoyed in the sun-drenched conservatory overlooking the terrace or up to 50 loved ones can be hosted outside the Pavillion, a self-contained thatched cottage in the grounds overlooking the croquet lawn. The hotel’s elegant dining rooms can accommodate between two to 28 guests and the luxurious drawing room can host up to 50 people on an exclusive basis - it’s perfect for winter weddings in front of a roaring log fire.
