Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - January/February 2025 (Issue 53)

Q&A Beauty Local experts answer your questions ALL MADE UP Meet the expert: Cathy Vanstone is a professional beauty therapist specialising in bridal make-up, hair and beauty therapy treatments. I’m newly engaged, how can I start a beauty regime ahead of my big day? Cathy says: When talking about beauty regimes for the wedding preparations, I always feel like the hair doesn’t get enough attention. We talk a lot about having facials, deep cleansing the skin and using good quality skincare containing acids to exfoliate dead skin cells but hair doesn’t always get a mention. When was the last time you did a hair mask for example? Do you manage to make your regular appointments for a trim? Have your hair extensions been maintained properly? We focus so much on growing our hair as long as possible so it is comparable to the models we see in magazines and on social media that it’s easy to forget how to look after it properly. My advice is to invest in the expensive hair mask and be sure to use it - my favourite is by the brand Olaplex. Make sure the ends of your locks are trimmed regularly, and your colour is kept fresh - your wedding photos will love you for it! www.beautybycathy.co.uk www.instagram.com/beauty_by_cathy www.facebook.com/beautybycathy104 Images courtesy of www.unsplash.com EXPERT ADVICE 79
