We got to wear wellies on our wedding day, dancing in the grounds! I had a black leather jacket with ‘Just Married’ printed on the back. We had Celtic harpist, Fionnuala Kirby playing background music as our guests arrived and also two songs were played whilst we signed the registrar. We also had the magician Dan Brazier for the evening entertainment, which was quite a surprise for our guests. When Dan appeared, everyone was taken aback. With such an intimate group setting, we still couldn’t figure out how he did his magic tricks! This continues to be a talking point with our guests. Steve didn’t want to purchase a suit that would remain in the wardrobe after our wedding, he wanted to make use of it after. The first one he saw and tried on was the one that was purchased both for him and his best man. The only alterations that were needed were the trouser lengths. They also wore cravat shirts with ivory cravats, brown leather lace-up brogues and hanging fob watches, of which Steve’s was his late dad’s. I finished my look with a pair of pearl earrings and a silver peony bridal hair accessory. I also wore a backdrop pearl necklace that complimented the low back of my dress. We bought an old-fashioned red post box for our cards to be placed in and we also had sparklers. You really can be creative if you set your mind to it. It was these little touches that got a lot of noticeable feedback from our guests. On top of, and within the crates were different-sized wooden lanterns, which Steve made, with flickering pillar candles, and a white illuminated star. Steve also made a 4ft illuminated rustic, wooden, LOVE sign that looked fabulous. 38
