Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - September/October 2024 (Issue 51)

Giant sparklers were given to each guest to create a sparkler arch at dusk for a fun photo opportunity! We hired a live wedding illustrator, Josh Griffiths, to create illustrations of each of our guests that they could take home as keepsakes. We stamped the back of each illustration with a personal thank you. Our statement wedding cake was a carrot cake with buttercream icing decorated by one of our bridesmaids using fresh edible flowers and sugar icing flowers made by a family friend. Our stunning raised floral centrepieces featured blooms in bright colours and pastel tones surrounded by tealights and tall candlesticks in different sizes and colours. Our flower arrangements included brightly coloured and pastel floral varieties. Our beautiful bouquets, buttonholes and aisle arrangements doubled up as table centrepieces. We had small bud vases holding flowers plus a statement floral arch. We wanted our guests to share in the magic of the Greek island of Spetses where we became engaged so we named our wedding tables after beaches on the island and had a map of Spetses next to the seating plan, with pins highlighting each of these beaches. Our wedding stationery including the invitations and place names used the same colourful floral design. I preserved my wedding bouquet. It was made into a framed piece of art. “We were able to have approximately 70 guests stay overnight at the venue. We stayed in the luxurious treehouse on our wedding night.” - Amina and Corey 33 REAL WEDDINGS
