Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - July/August 2024 (Issue 50)

The sun was shining all day, after a very wet day the day before when everyone was arriving. I walked down the aisle in the sunshine, around a blossom tree, to Shady Grove by Jerry Garcia. We wanted an outdoor farmhouse, and rustic barn wedding, and as our guests would be travelling from all over the country, we needed to find something that included camping and glamping options for those on more of a budget. Hayne offered everything we could wish for; accommodation for our family, camping and glamping options for guests, a beautiful walled garden for the ceremony and a barn available if the weather wasn’t on our side. There was a dining room and a barn with a bar that opened out on to a patio and green area for the evening’s festivities and a firepit for when it got dark. “Our very close friends Dave and Charlotte performed a hoop circus performance after the band played.” - Mel and Tom The ceremony was emotional, with honest and moving vows which meant there wasn’t a dry eye in the garden. 34
