Jen found hire pieces and secondhand items to style the wedding with. “We didn’t want to be wasteful and we tried to stick to a budget,” she tells us. “We had large flower pieces, a backdrop, a sparkler station, signage, a suitcase to hold cards and more. We loved our handmade Mr & Mrs James signage and I made the signs that were placed on the wood slices displayed as our centrepieces. These accompanied flowers in a mix of vases arranged by my auntie and bridesmaids and we also hired small copper lanterns - everything looked great styled together.” Jen and Chris had dried and paper flowers for their bouquets, buttonholes and bridal hairpiece plus a small arrangement decorating the cake. They tell us, “We named the tables after the different stages at Glastonbury, as a nod to where we met, which included Arcadia as our top table as well as Other Stage, Sonic, West Holts, Shangri-La, Block 9, Pyramid, Avalon and Left Field.” LOOKING THE PART Jen wore a bridal dress by Lilian West. “When I first tried it on, I had given birth six months previously and lost weight before our wedding so it had to be altered,” she tells us. Chris wore a navy three-piece suit with a patterned waistcoat while his groomsmen wore the same suits as him paired with plain grey waistcoats. “Our bridesmaids wore pretty pastel-coloured dresses in pink and lilac,” Jen tells us. “They each styled them differently and teamed them with dried flower hairpieces.” TIME TO CELEBRATE The couple booked The Swing Kings band who were highly recommended. They tell us, “They started the set with their signature swing style which sounded romantic followed by dance music for the last part of the night with a mix of house and garage tracks.” “Walking down the aisle towards Chris with my dad and all of our loved ones watching felt incredible - I cried!” Jen “My hair and make-up stylists were fantastic, making us all look so beautiful!” - Jen “Our photographer, Laura was organised and fun!” - Jen and Chris 41 REAL WEDDINGS
