Jen and Chris met by chance at the Glastonbury Festival in 2016. “It was at the Arcadia stage while the DJ Andy C was playing,” the couple tell us. “Our friends hung out and we kept in touch. When we got married, we walked up the aisle as husband and wife to the song Heartbeat Loud by Andy C which was very relevant!” Chris asked Jen to marry him in February 2018 during a holiday in Dubai. “I proposed after a romantic dinner,” Chris tells us. “We had travelled to the restaurant on a boat around a canal which was pretty magical.” SETTING THE SCENE Jen and Chris viewed a few venues around Torquay and when they discovered Bickley Mill, they knew it was the right place to host their special day. They tell us, “We didn’t want a formal sit-down menu so the Gourmet Barbecue option available at the venue was perfect for our laid-back, relaxed day.
